Inserted sound files won't play in Powerpoint 2003. I had the same problem with PPT 2002 and found that if I made a copy of the file on the desktop and linked to that, it worked fine. But I can't have my desktop full of soundfiles! is there a better answer?

Just in case anyone else has this problem, it seems that it was due to a long path to the sound file, even though it was in the same directory as the PPT file. So the 'answer' (until MS sort themselves out)is to put the sound file on the desktop or somewhere else close to the root directory.
