sound device not detected

I have just re-installed XP Home Edition SP1 onto my home-built (not by me) PC and since reinstalling and updating to SP2 the sound device is not being detected. It is an Intel IF56A-CL (I have downloaded Belarc and it isn't showing on there either). I have taken the sound device out and put it back in again but still no luck.

Any suggestions? We never had any problems with the sound beforehand.

you need to load the mobos driver cd which will contain most of what you need.

Hi Howard

What's a mobos driver CD, I didn't get any CDs at all with the machine

I've resolved it, found a missing driver tool on the Intel website, it detected my sound device and suggested a driver for it.

Downloaded and I have sound!
