Sound Card not Recognised in Device Driver

I have no sound, all of a sudden it's disappeared the sound card is not recoginsed in the device drivers,
I have tried using 'install new hardware' and drivers hoping it would bring up the sound card but no luck it's a

Terratec xlerate pci soundcard
using on win98se
any help please?

Try removing all references to your sound card in device manager and uninstall the drivers. Now restart the computer and windows should find your sound card and ask for the drivers.

Hi, Sounds like your card needs re-seating. One end has probably eased up a little not giving you full contact. Cheers, Bill

Thank you for coming to my aid, ton and billyliv,

I should have stated 'device manager' but that's ok you knew what I meant.

Problem solved removed drivers, eased sound card back in set it all back up again now have luverly music to my ears. Gave a spring clean while I was at it.
