sound card driver

hi there,
i recently had my computer flattened and i am not very confident in diving in and opening my pc ( idont havea clue what to look for).
basically i need to re-install all of my drivers and i cant find my sound card driver.
i have a completely stock advent t9207.
i think it has an AC97 or something but im not sure. Could you tell me if thats right and give a link to download it plz??

nothing reelly seemed to happen.
do you know which company made it?
is it possible to get the specific driver from the company?

the realtek one just takes forever and then just clocks out.
i havent got a slow intenet either (broadband).
its really starting to annoy me now.
does anyone have any idea who made it, what model it is etc.

It is onboard sound, You should go to Manufacturers site for all drivers

thanks, it was soo close.
but it said if you want to install, pressed yes.
gets to the end then tells me the device doesnt exist or has been removed manually!!!

what do i do?

Go to start menu/run,type


press return.

How many red and yellow warnings do you see, what devices are they warning about. Sounds as though chipset drivers haven't been installed.

Maybe its the wrong driver. When I visited the link given by brundle one part said it was the C-Media WDM sound driver and below it stated "The IntelĀ® Pro/100 VE LAN drivers are supplied pre-installed on your computer......"
I see there is also a C-Media High Definition Audio driver for download.
You need to run a diagnostic program which will list all hardware on your motherboard, something like Everest click here
