Sound card advice

  donki 17:10 03 Feb 09

Hi guys,

I have a home cinema system and would like to get my PC sound through it making use of the 5.1 digital surround. I am currently just using a AUX cable, what is the best card with a digital out? I am not looking for the best on the market just a good all rounder for games and my itunes. Thanks for your advice.

There are some problems with creative x-fi cards and some motherboards, notably with Nvidia chipsets. I am using the Asus Xonar DX altough it costs about £70 the sound is superb over the onboard sound.
