Sound Card

Please bear with me on this one !

Over the weekend I've learned from forum members that all Sound Cards have the PCI interface ( I got confused between AGP and PCI).

Have now shortlisted the Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS card but on downlaoding the manual just to check things, it mentions a PCI 2.1 slot. What does the 2.1 bit mean and will it fit my expansion slot?

My computer is an "E-machine" about 3 years old running XP.

All I want to do is upgrade my built in sound card to Dolby 5.1 but I'm finding it so confusing - please help!

yes it will fit, all pci slots are the same size.(except possibly for pci express which is for graphics anyway)
