Sound card...

I am just fitting an audigy 2. In a previous system it messed it up, since it had onboard as well.

This system also has onboard.

Its AC97 sound system.

Do I simply use add/remove programs to remove drivers, disable from bios, shutdown and fit PCI card and boot?

Is that correct? Just to ensure it goes smoothly!

Regards,
Gareth

ALso check the documentation on your new sound card. Some insist on having the new drivers installed BEFORE you put the card into the slot; others are more flexible. Get it wrong and you could have problems.

I think I will...

Many a time sound cards have caused me a problem, they are pretty common.

It tends to be IRQ conflicts.
