Sortable lists

I want to maintain a list of names which will frequently be added to. It would be ideal if they could be sorted into alphabetical order after each addition. Is this possible in any of the MS Office suite of progs? If not, any idea of suitable freeware please?

Excel?

Or Word. Select the list. Table|Sort.

This works whether the list is a table or not.

Thanks for the quick response. I've just had a mooch through Excel, and you can indeed sort a list in Data>Sort>Sort By...

Much appreciated. If no one comes up with a better idea, I will certainly use that. Cheers. db.

Well if you do get stuck in excel the man to ask is he who already responded ;-)

Thanks a lot for that. The Table>Sort>Sort By...works just fine. Much appreciated.
