SonyEriccson phone asking for password

Please help

I bought an M2 memory card for my wife's mobile and went to format it and it asked for a 'Lock Key' or password before it would proceed.

I tried leaving it blank but the message was 'Too Short'

I tried going into Security and change the password by lesving the old password field blank but received the same message.

She has definitely never put a password on this phone.

I bought it before Xmas from Argos and it is set up to use the Orange Network.

What can I do?

you will need the PUK code to reset the phone and unlock it. Get this from your provider, ie. O2

I have a Sony Ericsson K800i and it has a default lock code of 0000. I have not changed it yet so I tried it and I formatted the memory card without any problem. The above code should be standard with any Sony Ericsson phone so try it. J.B.

That's wonderful J B

Sha has a Sony Ericsson K800i also.

Many thanks.

Why can't they make this sort of information more easily available?
