I have just replaced my hard disc and found that I have lost my backup recovery discs. Sony are not helpful. Can anyone help me here?

i copied some for someone recently with an ident model but they would not load, I think they must check a serial number somehow.

thats the trouble with sony they poor service support and a lack of o/s discs spoils a good computer.

Your only option (apart from leaning on Sony) is to purchase a copy of the operating system you need.

How old is the laptop? If you can't find the backup disc's (they work in tandom with a partiton on the hard drive anyway, so would not find the required files on your new hdd) I guess buying a copy is your only way out.

You are right about Sonys' lack of customer care...I stopped dealing with them 2 years ago. Acer, on the other hand are great.
