Hi My laptop keyboard suddenly stopped working. I have restored back to factory settings and when the computer boots up the keyboard works fine. The keyboard works and allows me to put my password in,but then once its booted the keyboard stops working,or so I thought,I have now realised that it does work but I have to keep my finger on each key for approx 3seconds for it to type. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks

First job is to enable the on screen keyboard and have a short cut to it handy

Answer

Possibly Filter keys is on

try Control Panel - Ease of Access Center - Set up Filter keys and Click the Turn on Filter keys Check box. Now the Filter keys should be turned off and your system would work fine.
