Sony memory stick - file corruption

Hi,

Got a Sony DSC-F717 digital camera & the memory stick has become corrupted making it impossible to read or download the files containing the photos. Could I use a utility like Lost& Found to recover the lost files, or is it more likely that the photos will be too damaged to recover anyway? I hope they can be as there are some very precious photos in there.

Cheers.

There is never any harm in trying something like Lost & Found, if you don't and you could have saved some photo's well....

I quite agree, but I don't want to take unnecessary risks that might damage the files that could be retrieved some other way. But then if there is no other way, I've nothing to lose.

I'll hang on in case there are any other more fruitful postings before I dive in.

Cheers.
