Sony Giga Pocket software installation problems.

I have just re-installed Sony's Giga Pocket 5 software, but I am getting error messages along the way.
When I boot the PC, an error message pops up which obviously relates to the Giga Pocket software, as follows:

CSgpdCtrl:shwserv.exe: Application Error.
The instruction at "0x1004e319" referenced memory at "0x08c48420".
The memory could not be read.
Click OK to terminate program or Click Cancel to debug.
Click OK on this and it disappears. When I try to run GP5, it tells me that it cannot continue because another program is checking it, try in a while. However, the egg timer spins forever at this stage!
Has anyone a similar experience related to Sony Giga Pocket 5?
I am in touch with Sony, but the problem is continuity of Sonys' representatives. Someone replies to me, but a different person picks up my response. Also, the delay is about 24 hours give or take a day!
So...... help!!
