Sony DVD/RW installation problem

  superfluke 23:19 06 Mar 05

I've just purchased a Sony DW-22A-B2 DVD recorder but it has not a scrap of accompanying information. Sony's website doesn't want to recognise it so I'm in a bit of a quandry.
I want to install this unit as an upgrade to my 3 year old Evesham Axix 1800, which has the old-fashioned seperate 2 items fitted, CD-RW and DVD ROM drives. My question is which one of these two drives should I change? If I've read the suppliers spec. correctly, the new unit should handle all the previous operations of both the old units. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to advise a PC illiterate old fart.

replace your cd-rw drive as your new unit should handle the same functions.

Sony will not support any OEM product

A google search gives the DW22A-B2 as a DRU710a
so this might help

I agree with stalion, and that your drive is not supported by Sony....TT
