Is it possible to use a sony minidisc player on my pc without using sonic stage, as it is causing problems,(and its way too complicated just to get tracks onto a minidisc)?

I think not, because I think they use a proprietary music format - ATRAC or something like that, but I haven't checked. I used a Sony NetMD player once and found the software bulky and clumsy, but more importantly, not terribly stable. Check for updates to the software which might cure some of your problems.

thanks, will try for updates, and yes it is unstable, one day it works, next it doesnt.
