I found this little gem whilst searching for a way to block those annoying popadds that appear in some IE sites click here
I have downloaded and installed it and it works great,what it does is add targets to the windows host file and blocks the adds,it has stopped quite a few adds for me.I think its a good little thing,it does have its own installer incase you get worried about making a mistake,really easy to use.

The HOSTS file that you posted blocks some nasty sites, not just ads.

Im glad someone has used this besides me,i was not going to post it incase it made a mess of people's pc's,it worked ok for me i just didnt want angry forum members on my case,lol.
