Some sounds missing...

Anyone help with this?

- No system sounds except for Windows welcome and closing-down sounds.

- No website (eg YouTube) sound at all.

- AOL sounds only work when WMP is playing, don't work if WMP open and not playing.

- Windows Media Player sound works fine.

Cheers

realist,

try control panel-sounds and audio-sounds, and ensure that no sounds is not selected.

Yup. I've been grappling with this for weeks and done all the obvious stuff and most of the not-so-obvious...but thanks for the suggestion Joe R.

Try double clicking on the Volume icon in the Notification bar and checking that the relevant boxes from Options>Properties are ticked or, alternatively, that they are not Muted.

Thanks Stuartli.
Done all that too. There's nothing obviously wrong on the surface...

May be a system restore?

  realist 21:01 10 Mar 07

Been there done that :(

Seems that anything in windows plays ok. Can only suggest having a look here click here and maybe reinstalling drivers?

Thanks Rdave13.
Already reinstalled Creative drivers and all is configured correctly...only the sounds are missing.
Never mind, I think we'll just have to live without them!

Probably not this but might be worth seeing if Windows Audio service is running.

Thanks Ho-Lin-Sok, but it's not that either...
