Software Installation Order

Is there a best order to load software on a pc.

I usually go, O/s, drivers, updates, anti virus, firewall, applications, followed by any other programs.

All advice welcome.

very interesting question, one that has floated around the back of my mind. Also, i have wondered, does the order in which windows loads stuff on startup effet the time it takes to boot.

To answere you question, when i recently re-loaded everything, i went;

OS, drivers, Firewall & Av package, Update OS, Update AV and Firewall, the rest, update the rest.

Seems to have worked. But dont know if it would have mattered if i did it in a different order.

Yes there is but you have to do it enough times to know how it goes best. Then make a backup Image with either "Acronis True Image2 or "Norton Ghost"

Is Nero Image Drive the same as Acronis & Ghost?

Don't think so, as They only create a Image and Compress the Contents of the Partition Nero I think copy's all including free space
