My apologies if this is posted in the wrong section but i have a bit of an issue and can't manage to sort it out. Allow me, I have a JVC Everio HDD Camcorder, i have just been on holiday and want to show off a DVD to friends and family. I am in possession of both Apple and Windows machines. I want to download from the camera the filming but want to "edit" it a bit (take out empty spaces etc) and maybe add some transitions maybe music over the top, although nothing too sophisticated. What should i use? what software should i get? it has to be easy to follow, bearing in mind this is my first venture into this world. Ideally a step by step would be good but any advice would be welcome.
Thank you,
Mike

I use Pinnacle Studio 9, have done since a complete novice, found it very good, will do everything you want to do, and very easy to follow.

Or, if you are using XP, try Windows Movie Maker which is part of XP.
