soft boot problem in vista

hi everytime i do a soft reboot after the post i get an error saying NTLDR is missing,
Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart which i do but
the same error comes up.
if i turn pc off at the mains and wait 30 seconds
or so then turn it on it boots ok.
Running Vista home,
Any idears?

change first boot to dvd drive, restart with your vista disc in the drive, windows will show a few screens till it gives you a choice of options, choose repair startup, when it says reboot, remove your vista disc from the drive and click restart. on restart vista will fix and all will be back to normal. the process takes a while so wait even when nothing seems to be happening.

forgot to say change first boot device back to what it was in the bios after your happy all is ok.
