socket 7 motherboard cpu?

i have an old system with a pentium mmx processr which is socket 7 can i put in a amd k62 processor
i already have into it as it is also socket 7 or are the boards only for each manufacturer after a lot of serching i have got an updated bios

If you know the speed of the processor e.g. 400, 450 or 500 and you can find the jumper settings printed on the mothrboard or in the board manual if you have one you can see if the board supports it. The jumpers are usually 2x, 3x, 3.5x etc and you multiply this by the bus speed which gives you the cpu speed. eg 100 mhz bus speed at 4.5x is the setting for a K62 450 processor. A lot of info can be found reading the older motheboards. hope this helps.

also the processor is a 450 and the bios says supports 150/166/200/233mhs

many thanks but have all the parts i need to take it up to the maximum for the motherboard unless you have a socket 7 motherboard with a advanced graphic port as i have a pci at the moment
