So how worried should I be?

OK,

I've had a few problems with my PC - due mainly, I think, so something malicious having got onto my system.

But today, I found that I could not shut my computer down at all. I even did the thing where you can shut your computer down by holding the power button in for 5 seconds.

All my computer did every time I did that was to immediately turn itself back on again. The only way I could shut my computer down was to turn the power off at the mains!

Would there be any non-suspicious reason for this happening or do I have to put my plans to re-format my system HD and re-install Windows from scratch on to a high priority?

Cheers.
