SMTP server timing out

I have two computers linked to the net via a wireless router. Using Mozilla Thunderbird on both I frequently get on one machine the fault report "The message could not be sent because connection to SMTP server smtp.ntworld.com timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator.

The other computer has no problems in sending mail messages.

The fault has only recently developed. Repeated attempts to send message sometimes gets through.

Any ideas? Is this a set up problem on faulty macine?

Thanks

Try changing your settings slightly - enter link description here

If nothing else works try this.

Go to command prompt and type in ipconfig /flushdns and press enter on the keyboard.

It should tell you that the dns cache has been flushed ,if so reboot and see if it makes any difference.

That usually helps when pages are slow to open when browsing so not sure about e-mails.But worth a try.
