Small windows on Windows

I'm running Windows XP. A week ago I had a problem with my PC and it had to be re-configured. It's working fine now but the windows, when opened, are smaller than they used to be. Any ideas as to the reason why this should be happening? Can I do anything about it?

Has your screen resolution changed.Have you tried Device manager to see if any problems in there.

Could be your screen settings

or

you just need to "grab" one corner and stretch the window- close the window and then reopen and see if it reopens at same size.

if desktop is ok and the probs seem to be in explore etc the drag screen to fit and close with alt f4 and when reopened will be ok.
