Sluggish PCs

1. Check for viruses, spy and malware

Crap Cleaner click here

1. A Virus or Malware. Use suitable utilities to remove.

2. Too many programs being launched automatically at start-up. Close down all programs that are not needed.

3. Too much rubbish on the hard drive; temp files and suchlike. click here for ccleaner to remove.

4. Defrag the hard drive.

If you are running XP on 256 Meg of Ram you will notice a huge improvement by adding a further 256 Meg. 256 Meg is I think the bare minimum of Ram for XP. The most cost effective improvement you could make.

Try all of the above first (especially adding another 256mb of RAM), but if you think it's still not right, try this link: click here

Hope it helps.
