Slow(ish) start up

I use Start-up-Inspector to remove items from start up. They then do not appear on my task bar.
I've often wondered if that actually removes them from start

Apologies for garbled thread. What I really want to know is, does using Start-up-Inspector perform the same function as going into the registry and removing the items there.
