hi all when i get broadband i am going to share the connection with a adsl modem/router,ill be connecting via usb and the other via ethernet,i have everything i need,is it possible to slow down speeds on the other computer,so mine has a flat-out speed say 120kb - 380kb.cheers.ben

is ....No.

The router will distribute the connection according to demand - it's a minor example of the contention that occurs at your ISP. If you use both computers at the same time they'll share your available bandwidth, otherwise you'll have the full bandwidth (or as neas as makes no difference) on the machine you're using.

it wouldn't be possible to slow down the port speed though,or does this only apply to modems?.thanks alot.ben
