Slow XP shutdown

I have had XP for about a year now and it has always seemed to spend about two minutes on the 'Windows is shutting down' screen. Tis is quite annoying, as I don't want to leave the pc without seeing the power go off. Help.
I have gone to 'gpedit.msc' through the run comand and disabled the 'clear page file' bit. This has reduced the time considerably, but how can I make it shorter. I ahve a hercules Graphics card, NOT NVidia. So the help thing for NVidia is no use to me.

Hercules makes the card but are you SURE Nvidia didn't make the chipset? Example I have a Hercules geForce 3 Ti 200 - made by hercules but the chipset is NVidia (as are all GeForce cards) SO are you sure the "help thing for NVidia is no use to me"??

If not what is it anyway?

I have tried that sight before Fuzzylogic and made the changes, they help, but there is a short bit about event logging on that site, but where do I find this setting.
A detailed guide to how to get there would be nice please.
