Slow Start up

  aitch2 12:10 22 Nov 06

Computer is running WinXP-SP2, Norton 2006 + windows firewall disabled. It is taking almost 7-8 mins to start up. Have followed previous threads so Temp.Int files/ cookies/ disc cleanup/ defrag have been carried out. Have run SystemSuite5 and cleaned out Registry for any odds and sods (800+). Have run Ad-aware but still the same. Have run msconfig and chosen selective startup so I've just got System.Ini,Win.Ini,Load system services. On the Start up menu tab it has stuff in there that I recognise, but also some stuff that I do not. Is there anything available to identify what I don't need on startup before I make any further alterations? Computer runs OK otherwise. No conflicts and everything on resources is Ok.
