Slow response time on new laptop - chrome/excel

Hi I have recently purchased the below, on Friday: Acer Aspire E1-572 Windows 8 - Intel Core i5 (i5 - 4200U, 1.60 GHz, 3 MB) - 39.6 cm (15.6") LED - 16:9 HD - Active Matrix TFT Colour LCD - Intel HD 4400 - 6 GB DDR3L SDRAM

Looked really good for my reqts, and pleased with it apart from it is freezing wen using excel or using google chrome. It freezes for about 4-5 seconds and then comes back to life.

I'm still within warranty, so can return, but would rather not go through the hassle. Is this a known problem perhaps, can it be corrected, or have i just purchased a slower machine than i though!?

Awaiting Acer Support top open on Tues.

With that spec it should be flying along.

Forget Acer Support, it is the job of the person you bought it from. However they may blame it on the Software that you have installed.

It doesn't sound like Malwear but, just to be sure, run your AV and Malwearbytes
