i have just built my first system, everthing appears to work fine (win xp)the motherboard is a gigabyte ga-7n400 pro2 and the cpu is an athlon 3.2.

why is the cpu speed displayed as 1100mhz while the computer is in p.o.s.t, even when looking at it under device manager it only displays a speed og 1.09ghz. This would account why i think it is slow, what am i missing? is there something i should be doing to the jumpers on the motherboard (still set at default)

I'm at a loss any help please.

Thanks

Alan

Abax, have you had a look in your BIOS. Your FSB might be set at 100MHz and in should be set at 200. This would account for it being displayed at half the correct speed.
