Slow Microsoft Windows Updating

  henza_mapenza 01:52 19 Oct 03

Lately I was updating my Windows XP home edition using Microsoft Windows Update. I find the downloading is okay but when it is finished, it says installing and it takes ages to install the update(s). Usually around 30 minutes. I don't know if it should last that long but it didn't before. Is there any to restore this problem. Is it beccause of a previous update. Please Advise? I have a 56K modem which is bad news for me because of downloading times. Please Help. THX

The updates i find do take there time to install.

But 30 minutes that seems a little long to me.

First defrag your hard drive.

Close down any programs.
