According to Everest Diagnostics my PC133 SDRAM is slower on my 1 Ghz Athlon than a 600 Mhz Athlon. Is this unusual, and is there anything I can do to speed things up?

CPU Motherboard Chipset Memory Read-Speed

Athlon-600 Asus K7M AMD-750 PC100 SDRAM 730 MB/s

Celeron2-900 MSI 815EP Pro i815EP PC100 SDRAM 710 MB/s

PIII-600B Asus P2B i440BX PC133 SDRAM 670 MB/s

This Computer MSI K7M Pro (MS-6340M)/K7TM Pro (MS-6340) 548 MB/s

Original 128 Mbytes Samsung module came with the PC

Module Type Unbuffered • Memory Type SDRAM •
Memory Speed PC133 (133 MHz) • Module Width 64 bit • Module Voltage LVTTL • Error Detection Method None • Refresh Rate Normal (15.625 us), Self-Refresh • Highest CAS Latency 3.0 (7.5 ns @ 133 MHz)

I added 256 Mbytes Micron Tech module later

Module Type Unbuffered • Memory Type SDRAM • Memory Speed PC133 (133 MHz) • Module Width 64 bit • Module Voltage LVTTL • Error Detection Method None • Refresh RateNormal (15.625 us), Self-Refresh • Highest CAS Latency 3.0 (7.0 ns @ 142 MHz) • 2nd Highest CAS Latency 2.0 (7.5 ns @ 133 MHz)

hi Pesala

like most benchmarks take it with a pinch of salt.

using everest memory write my 1.8p4 512ddr pc2100 is faster than an athlon xp2200+ but slower than a p4 1.7

memory write its faster than a xp2000 but slower than a celeron 1.7

make sense of that one??

it depends on how many motherboards used by everest to compare yours with are similar in spec.

if it works ok just use as a guideline.try pcpitstop also click here but as above results in benchmarks i wouldnt trust too much.

Are the benchmarks really so useless?

Any more offerings?
