I have installed a clean win2000 pro. I have the following problems....

My pc is abitkt7a m/board
cpu amd athlon 1.2
mem 512mb
grafic ati radeon ddr mem 128mb
modem isdn single channel

Very slow to connect to isp
I am unable to download a file greater than 500kb
stops downloading but remains connected.

When downloading connects at 8kb/sec then slows to 1.5kb/sec.

Once I have viewed 2 web pages it freezes and I have to close down and restart.

I have downloaded all the new drivers required.

My other pc runs win98se uses the same isdn connection (I have 2 isdn lines) with no problems

I have a feeling that the problem is in the dial-up connection although I have created several connections I have been unable to solve this problem

I getting very short on hair now your help please

regards
wilf

It's not trying to connect to a network is it? even if one is not setup the settings may be set for it. As that's the first thing to check in win98, do not know if 2000 the same

(I'm confused about 'dialup' with reference to isdn.) If it's b/b then you may have to change settings in properties: go to TCP/IP, Properties/Advanced and compare with 98 pc settings, maybe changing to Disable NETBIOS over TCP/IP under WINS.
