Hi, i'm using Diskeeper ver 9 to defragment my Acer laptop. File system is FAT 32. It takes hours and hours to complete whilst defragging my PC only takes minutes. Thanks.

try using disk cleanup first, also try it with screensaver disabled.

Is your PC using NTFS file system?

I have noticed that Diskeeper is slow on my FAT32 laptop.

Yes my PC is using NTFS and it defrags very quickly. The laptop takes literally all day to complete. and I don't just mean its slow. It takes all day to defrag.

don't think its that as I use cc cleaner regularlyto claen the disk.

Windows XP

I just wondered as Win 98SE runs ten times faster and is more stable if the Defrag.exe file from windows ME is installed instead of the Win 98SE original file.
Sorry but can't help with XP.
