i have recently installed a new router for my computer a NETGEAR "super wireless adsl router 108mbps" im running xp sp2 im on talk talk broadband and previously used an external adsl modem to connect to the internet. Now my connection is awful. i have done spyware and spybot checks and full scans with norton antivirus 06 and the system is clean but internet is still really slow. in ie7 i will try to open a page and it will say "waiting for website" etc for a while. i tried reinstalling ie7 which worked for a day then now is slow again. it used to work brilliantly. i havent installed anything new that could have caused the slowness. My computer then decided to shut down whilst i was performing a scan... does this happen because of overheating??

The speed of my internet varies that is not dependent on volume of internet traffic. When I change the Channel/SSID the spped picks up for a while evnetually slowing down again.
Many thanks,
Vic
