slide show in ThumbsPlus gone wrong

Anybody out there using Thumbsplus 3.3 to run a slide show on their PC?

I have a friend who is trying to run a slide show of his holiday snaps on his computer using Thumbs, but all Landscape pics come up like a “mosaic” all pixellated. Portrait pics are perfect.

I use Thumbsplus to do the same thing and mine are all perfect. We are both on win98se, he has an AOC 17” TFT monitor with an ATI rage 2000 AGP graphics card. We have tried every combination of resolution from 16 colours at 640x480 right up the maximum 36bit at 17something x 1280 but it makes no difference. We have copied the same pictures to CD and I have tried them on my PC and the slide show works perfectly. My graphics card is an ATI Rage IIC AGP.

If we rotate the landscape pictures 90 degrees on his PC so that they appear to be portrait style the slide show is perfect – except, of course you have to turn your head 90 degrees to view them.

Any ideas please?

Looks like I am on my own with this one. Obviously no-one is using ThumbsPlus as a slide show viewer. I will tick it as resolved and try another angle.
