Slaved HDD invalid I/O

have slaved an HDD seen as F drive, but when I try to explore the contents the above message comes up and I cannot acces the drive

Depends on what operating system you are using, have you tried chkdsk click here look for your windows op and it's syntax.

Looks as if the partition on the drive is messed up

you will need to run something like test disk to recover any data from the disk.

Check that bios is correctly seeing the drive.

Then if you have the means to, boot to a dos prompt and see if you can first make the drive current, and if you can, are you able to take a directory listing of the root of the drive. Be aware that in dos the drive letter will probably not be F. (also dont get confused with a ramdrive)
