Skype automatically dialing up Broadband

I am running Skype and have it set in options to: 'Start Skype when I start windows'.

In the past this has meant that the Skype icon loads into the task bar as I boot up and is grey until I connect to my broadband provider. It then logs me on and turns green ready to receive or make calls.

Since the last update, or thereabouts, it still loads up during boot up but goes a stage further and tries to connect to the internet, which then starts the dial up procedure and connects me to the internet - everytime I boot up.

I can't find a way to stop this - any ideas out there?
