My Sky News gadget has suddenly stopped working on Windows 7 sidebar. Any ideas anyone?

Tried sky's website, still not working. Works OK on my laptop and my Dad's PC, just not on mine, strange!

Have you tried uninstalling the gadget, running CCleaner then downloading it again?

I also use the Sky News Gadget and have found that the ESET NOD32 signature database from around the 3rd August contains blocks to the Sky News gadget. Easy to prove, turn off NOD32 and it works, turn it on again and the gadget stops. NOD32 does not have any roll-back for the signature database, so I've restored my partition from an earlier backup and have tuirn off the automatic updating of the database. I've written to ESET to share my experiences with them, so it is now a matter of wait and see.

EST have been very helpful, but I fear that I may have been judging them unfairly, because any associateion with NOD32 was purely coincidental. I have a background cache cleaner that operates around the same time as the NOD32 signature downloader - namely 2-3 minutes after login to Windows.

As for the problem, all I know is that if you use products like Privacy Eraser to clean out your browser cache, then the files that are used by the Sky News gadget will be removed and it stops working. However, no amount of uninstalling and reinstalling of the gadgets will get it working again and I don't know why? I'll post again if I find a solution.
