i have very many old floppy disc 's containg old data . using a sitecom USB flopy drive
Exploring some it says the are not formatted others are no problem can anyone give me some help as to what I am doing wrong please.Regards Brian C.

Windows XP (and presumably also Vista and Win 7) can have problems reading floppy disks that were originally formatted with, for example, DOS, Windows 95 or Windows 98.

Reformatting them with your current version of Windows should make them usable, but will destroy the data on them.

Do you have access to an old PC running something like Windows 98, which does use DOS? You could then get the data off them with that.
