Site security gold padlock !! Help

  blackpat 09:46 09 May 06

Hi all, I tried to get into my online credit card account this morning. I always check the site certicate before logging on, the gold padlock for checking the site is missing. I also tried my on line banking account (same company.) and it was the same there. I phoned the company and they tried from their end and said it was visable.
I deleted cookies a few days ago, I don't know if this would affect it. Any ideas?

Does https appear in the part where you can enter a web address in you browser.

Try clearing your temporary internet files as well if you haven't already done so.

Try the free CCleaner application (click here) to ensure that everything is clear, then try accessing the sites again. If there is no improvement you could reinstall your browser or switch to another browser temporarily. For Firefox (click here), when the page is secure the address bar is coloured a pale shade of yellow and also (as FatboySlim71 said), 'https' is at the start of the web address.

Try going into Internet explorer, then go into the tools menu, internet options, click on the advanced tab, and scroll down to the security section and see if Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 are ticked.
