siren sound and switch off

I have a medion PC 2 years old running XP

After vaccum cleaning the fan funnel this am the PC starts when the case is left open but gives off siren like alarm sound and shuts off when the case is put back

I suspect fan seating is disturbed via funnel as the case panel is slid into position or an earthing problem - never heard of the siren sound before - any ideas please ?

Your vacuuming has probably lifted the heatsink from the CPU and it is an overheat alarm. Re-seat it with some paste and it should stop.

Looks like the <<Case intrusion warning>> Option is enabled in the bios, hence it shuts off when you put back the side panel.

retep - I did not reset anything in bios
perhaps overheat alarm is the more likely option
thank you for the suggestion
