Dose anyone know if the new simplicity operating system that is aimed at the over 50s is available without having to buy the machine, i.e just the software?

Acutely I think I've found it.

It's a modified version of Linux Mint, which in itself, is an excellent operating system.

The objective, was to make a computer very easy to use for older people who may have less than perfect vision and have never used a computer before.

The Eldy system sits on top of the operating system, windows or Linux and provides a very simple user interface.

I should have been clearer. The simplicITy computer uses Linux Mint as its base, but Eldy as you correctly say, sits on top of Linux or Windows.

However, you did ask about the simplicITy operating system in your original post and it was that to which I referred.

Eldy is an application, not an operating system.

yes after a bit of research I found that out.
