Simple Notebook for OAP

Any of you bright sparks got a solution to this one.
My Very aged Mother-in-Law, no jokes she is nice, wants to keep in touch with her many grandchildren.
My idea would be to supply her with a notebook which for preference starts up on opening then starts SKYPE automatically. It obviously needs a webcam but would need her to do nothing except press an accept button. She is in sheltered accommodation but has access to broadband wifi in her room. The shops I have been to keep trying to push all-singing laptops but she is quite unable to use anything but the simplest. Cost is also an issue, I don't want a valuable item tempting people, nor do I want something that will tempt people to fidget with the settings and need resetting.
