Sibelius Software & Sound Cards/Speakers pointers!

Ok, bit of a hard one as everyone has a different hearing requirement.

I have started using Sibelius software for writing Music scores etc. The Audio Play back is poor as I know its down to the Onboard Audio chip and cheap x 2 speakers. "Time for a upgrade"

Is there anyone else out there who uses this software and can recommend a Creative or similar Sound Card, and i would also like to know any pointers towards a decent 3 piece set of speakers.

The older speakers produce a tinny and not very deep sound even though they have Bass Boost or 3D etc options.

Creative are the way to go:

Creative SoundBlaster Player 5.1

The best choice for a tight budget

Creative Labs Soundblaster Audigy Platinum is the best otherwise!

Not really the tight budget but the speakers and space. Trying to avoid more than 3 speakers e.g Subwoofer & 2 Satalite things.

The SB Player 5.1 erhh! does that still exchist?

Or do you mean the SB Live! 5.1 Digital ?

If I wes to use a 3 piece speaker set and have a Sound Card with 4.1 + would I miss out or have inferrior quality as the 4.1+ is for 4 or more speakers or am I not getting this right.

Back tomorrow, my eyes are smarting, for some reason, Hayfever ?
