Shutter speed settings

Hi, I have a Fuji Finepix 6800zoom digital camera and having problems with blurring of moving objects and, looking the manual, see it can shoot at 1/2000sec but can't see anything in the manual about how to set it up! Can anyone advise me and thanks in advance for your help.

Try panning. If you follow the subject whilst you are taking the shot it helps to keep it reasonably sharp against a blurred background.

But the better and brighter the weather conditions, the higher the shutter speed that is likely to be selected by the camera (in conjunction with smaller apertures).
