shutdown problem

i recently installed a firewire adapter card to my system and since then ,when i attempt to shut
down, the system restarts. i don't now if the card
is the prob. but i have disabled it and still have the same problem .any help will be gratfully
appreciated

If you are using Win xp it happens because if windows detects a serious error it will auto restart, so as you are shutting down it must be detecting something then. You can switch this off by right clicking on My Computer, properties, advanced ,start up and recovery then uncheck the automatically restart.
You may need to do this to help diagnose the error.

took the card out ,all back to normal
think i'll try usb2 instead
