"Shut Down" Problem.

The installation of Norton AntiVirus 2003 appears to have prompted a "Windows Protection Error" message most times I "Shut Down". Another problem is that when I formerly connected to my ISP, there was an automatic check for new e-mail.
This no longer happens. Has anyone any suggestions as to how to overcome these problems?

I have Norton system works and it tends to interfere with, and check all windows programs. Try: start/ run/ type in msconfig in box then Press enter, click on "start up" tab and un tic everything except "systray" it will tell you to re start. Re start, then activate your Norton manually.
