Shut Down Problem

  ulrich 20:00 23 Oct 05

I have had this problem for ages so I do not know when it started. I have WIN XP. When Iturn the pc off the monitor switches itself off but not the PC. This is intermittent that's why I haven't bothered about it but enough is enough. I have looked at other postings but do not see this problem, any help on this most gratefully received.

I'm not sure if any of that covers my problem, which I do not see or covered differently. My shutdown problem is the monitor turns off but the PC still runs, so I restart it and shut it down again, which then works. I can go for 2 or 3 weeks and this problem doesn't occur.

Check adance power management settings, you need a tick in the APM box.
